"If I'd had a fifteen-year plan, it probably wouldn't have involved quite so many pairs of pants…"
Henry Hales once made a pair of boxer shorts from surplus shirt fabric that was going to waste. Fifteen years on, a lot has changed, but we're still making clothes from good fabrics, surrounded by good friends.
To mark the occasion, we've made these, in two colourways, blue and lilac. Each is patchworked by hand from surplus fabrics pulled straight from the SIRPLUS archive, odds and ends from fifteen years of collections, stitched back into something new. Only seventy-five pairs exist, and every one arrives in a box personalised by our team. A proper nod to where it all began: the pair we started with, made once more for a very special birthday.
Underneath the patchwork, it's the straight-fit boxer we've spent fifteen years getting right: a stretch waistband, button fly and rear gusset, made to be worn and worn again. Cut from surplus cotton, just as the first pair was on a market stall fifteen years ago.

The Autumn Lookbook
Dear Autumn
Autumn is when the city is at its best. Around late September, the crowds ease off, the light is golden by four, and London seems to exhale a little. The trees start to turn. The pubs steam up by six.
It gets cold enough, at last, to dress properly...
Born from surplus fabrics
"We started with boxer shorts, cut from offcuts I'd talked London shirtmakers out of. Fifteen years on, we make the whole wardrobe the same way — good cloth, relaxed cuts, made to be worn and kept." — Henry Hales, founder.
