Fabrics Made to Last

SIRPLUS started with surplus, and as we’ve grown, we’ve adopted more fabrics into the fray. Today, we source fabrics that fit with our mission: to create clothing that looks good, feels good, and does good.

Approximately one-third of our garments are still made using carefully chosen surplus materials from other producers. When it isn't possible to source surplus, we commission thoughtfully selected new materials. Functional, durable and of the highest quality, they are always responsibly-produced and made to the same high standards we demand of our surplus pieces, meaning every yard is made to last.

Linen has been keeping people cool for centuries. Our pure Portuguese 250g linen eases with wear and gains character over time — the creases are part of the point. From soft-collared shirts to summer suiting, it's a fabric that improves with use.

Cotton Seersucker

Lightweight, waffled, built to breathe. Seersucker's puckered surface isn't decorative — it keeps air circulating, which is the whole point. Versatile by construction: different thread colours yield different patterns, and the speed at which the warped threads are fed changes the texture entirely.

Tana Lawn™ Cotton

Exclusively from Liberty London's archive of fifty thousand prints. Developed in the 1930s and named for Lake Tana in Ethiopia, where its unique fibres originated — today it's printed in Lake Como. Lightweight, silk-like, and considered a masterpiece of textile technology even a century on.

ECOVERO™ Viscose

ECOVERO™ is viscose made responsibly — produced using at least 50% less water and generating significantly lower carbon emissions than conventional alternatives. Elastic in nature, thin and springy, it drapes with ease and wears loosely. The fabric behind our Cuban Shirt: generous in cut, effortless in feel.

Bay Green Cotton Twill Suit, Suits - SIRPLUS

Signature · Year-round

Cotton Twill

A SIRPLUS signature and a hard-working hero. The distinctive diagonal weave — sourced from Italy's Duca Visconti mill — sits at a mid-weight sweet spot: firm enough to hold its shape, relaxed enough to wear all day. It softens with use over time, which is exactly the point.

Surplus Fabrics

Where it all began. Approximately a third of our collection is still made from carefully chosen surplus materials — deadstock yarns, wool blends, linen, silk, and cashmere offcuts that would otherwise go to waste. No two seasons are identical. One-offs that bring something singular to each collection.

Our cashmere comes from a variety of sources chosen for quality and longevity — from Italy's prestigious Cariaggi mill to recycled cashmere from leading international suppliers. Harris Tweed, handwoven in the Hebrides, needs little introduction — its tradition is timeless. In recent years its Celtic cousin, Donegal tweed, has joined the range: its flecked appearance offering a speckled counterpart to Harris Tweed's vibrant dual-wool blend. Cut into Nehru jackets, waistcoats, and overcoats, tweed is an old friend that brings functionality to form.

Collaboration · Made in London - Welsh Wool

A celebration of British craftsmanship. Our limited edition collaboration with London Cloth Co. uses exceptional Welsh wool woven at the historic Elvet Woollen Mill in Wales — a cloth with real provenance, cut into fewer than twenty pieces of each style, each made here in London. Patterned and practical, the Blue and Black Check Bomber unites legacy craft with contemporary clothing.
