Go Polo

Comfortable, stylish and unwaveringly popular - the polo shirt is the height of sophisticated athleisure. Allegedly traced to the mid-1800s in Manipur, India, British Army soldiers witnessed a polo match by locals and took it upon themselves to open the very first polo club in the world. Due to the heat and discomfort, they began attaching buttons to achieve the 'open v' that allowed a cool performance on the field.

A hundred years later the style migrated across tennis courts, cutting the sleeve length and enhancing the polo’s durability, athletic fit and breathability. Grounded in its robust origins, the modern polo speaks to a refined, timeless and flexible wardrobe.

The SIRPLUS polo has been developed to reach its full potential as more than just a summer-country-club-weekender. Here are just some of the ways to make the most of the textured polo. Take your usual size for a relaxed fit, or size down for a slimmer silhouette.

The Trailblazer

Our first polo shirt is a piece of modern heritage. A knitted button-through polo crafted from soft organic cotton yarns in a textural open weave. Featuring a chest pocket, tightly ribbed edges and eco-friendly coconut buttons, it’s a fresh update to the 50’s gentleman.

This means they can be a great piece for event dressing. Not really a full suit and tie person? If the occasion calls for a blazer then try layering the textured polo underneath. Or for a twist, layer with the Chore Jacket. The complimentary pairing is a subtle way to evoke modern heritage. With this approach to layering summer evening wear, you'll look good at the beginning, and the end, of any event.

Traditional flair

If you are after something more traditional, take advantage of the textured polo’s athletic fit and style. Pair it open-collared with our all-new tapered fit casual trouser. Think James Dean meets Fred Astaire, it’s a timeless approach to summer casual. Pair with white trainers for a final refined yet relaxed twist.

Summer Survival

In 100% cotton, you’ll be kept cool this summer with the moisture-wicking abilities of this yarn - the breathability and durability of a championship winner. If the summer heatwave continues, then you might need to pair with shorts. We recommend chino shorts that hit just above the knee to compliment the upper body fit.
