Daniel Kaluuya makes everything look easy. Joining the Marvel universe? Sure. Escaping the Sunken Place? No problem. Now, the Black Panther and Get Out star has pulled off perhaps an even more impressive feat – pulling off head-to-toe brown without breaking a sweat.
At the Toronto Film Festival, appearing to promote the Steve McQueen-directed Widows, Kaluuya teamed our Sand Workman Jacket with a matching t-shirt and simple cotton chino trousers. It’s a look that was fawned over by editors and buyers in the AW18 fashion shows, but like many runway trends, one that’s hard to imagine wearing in day-to-day life. Fortunately, the north Londoner has a knack for this sort of thing.
The trick is to nailing the all-over Werther’s look is take a casual approach. Kaluuya kept his tonal separates laid back, and paired them gleaming white sneakers to break up the sludgy palette. Those who aren’t sure of the tonal look could swap the chinos for a pair of brown chunky corduroy trousers (like those arriving at Sir Plus very, very soon), killing two sartorial birds with one stone.
