Sir Plus creates exquisite waistcoats tailored in Britain from surplus fabric (aka Cabbage) – but of course you already knew that! We pride ourselves in crafting particularly interesting waistcoat designs to fit every occasion, be it weddings, outings, races, clubs, festivals, country pursuits or leisure.

Sir Plus didn’t start by making waistcoats; originally we made boxer shorts from surplus shirting. As the business evolved, we moved into production of our most prominent product – the single and double breasted vest. We’ve discussed them previously in a ‘versus’ article, but today we’re going to delve into the making of the Sir Plus Waistcoat.

As you may have noticed, our waistcoat designs are a sight to behold; we use materials from off-cuts, which enables us to use a variety of colours and fabrics, not normally available. Our styles range from houndstooth to silk; from simple brown tweed to brown tweed with big football buttons, and we are talking big buttons! The traditional, the outrageous, the stupendous and totally out there designs, are what we do best... All manufactured to the highest standard, with the best quality fabrics.

Sing Breasted Waistcoats in Various Styles

Our styles will keep you coming back for more!

All our styles to date have a satin acetate reverse, with the remainder of the waistcoat being Cabbage. Using off-cuts and surplus material, our products are made right here, in good old England. We cut down on waste and do our part for the environment – by being so eco-friendly. We can use almost any fabric to design a waistcoat. We’ve used Scottish tweeds, Irish linens, warm cashmere, rustic wools, smooth silk and so on and so forth.

We let our waistcoats do the talking for us! If you find yourself preparing for a wedding and don’t know whom to call? Sir Plus double breasted vests will do the trick, or perhaps you'd prefer a single breasted waistcoat? We have plenty to choose from... If you’re talking more casual wear, night out with the mates, girl to impress or any other occasion, well, look no further. Single breasted waistcoats are the ticket!
